The Addis Ababa AIDS Treatment Project team currently serves over 1000 individuals through tight-knit community support groups. We plan to leverage and build upon this strong support infrastructure as we seek to fulfill our aforementioned mission. Initially the team will interview the beneficiary groups to understand and assess their skills and interests related to income generating activities. Recognizing beneficiaries’ practical wisdom and local knowledge, the team shall add our business perspectives to develop a holistic approach to small business creation.
One logical approach involves an alliance with a well run Micro-Finance Institution (MFI) to provide financial services and business skills support. The team plans to identify potential partnerships for financial as well as educational support. Once identified, we shall present the benefits and costs of alliances to the clinic leaders and beneficiaries.
The clinic leaders and beneficiaries serve in a client role. The Empowerment team treats this as a professional consulting engagement focused on sharing value with the beneficiaries.
Team Empowerment,
